For nearly two years before the FTC complaint was filed, Bronson Partners, LLC and its officer, Martin Howard, marketed Chinese Diet Tea, telling consumers they could lose as much as six pounds a week by drinking one cup of the green tea after each meal to “neutralize the absorption of fattening foods.” Advertising in national magazines such as USA Weekend and Clipper Magazine, the marketers charged $24.95 plus shipping and handling for a month’s supply

Prescription Drugs Derived From Herbs

A very common sight in the rural areas is a dog munching on leaves and shrubs and then throwing up the whole thing. Not a very pleasurable view, but it’s a proof that even animals are aware of the healing qualities of herbs, which are nothing but plants with rich deposits of secondary metabolites, such as tannins, alkaloids, glycosides, bio-flavonoid etc., or broadly, the phytochemicals.

Climate Change Creates Inuit Need for Communal Deep Freezers

To survive in the harsh environment of the Arctic tundra, the Inuit people rely on hunting since few plants grow in the region.  Whales, walruses, fish, and seal provide sustenance for these people often inappropriately labeled “Eskimos“.  Seal is the most important part of the Inuit diet, and hunting season begins when the ice hardens.  [ Climate Change Creates Inuit Need for Communal Deep Freezers from Green Living Ideas ]

Bone Marrow Transplantation from Mismatched Donors

Although bone marrow transplants have long been standard for acute leukemia, current treatments still rely on exact matches between donor and patient. 5 Ways To Make Indoor Air Quality Better

When we think of air pollution, we tend to think of the pollution and smog outdoors.  But the air in our homes, workplaces, and inside other buildings can contain more pollutants than the air outside.  Lead that gets into household dust, radon, formaldehyde, fire-retardant chemicals, and even unstable chemicals used as scents in cleaning products can build up in the air inside your house or apartment.  Pollutants can be tracked in from outside or can be contributed by new furnishings, new paint, or services like carpet cleaning. The air may also be filled with allergens like dust mites, mold, and pet dander.  You are likely to acquire pet dander even if you have no pets, since pet owners who visit carry it on their clothing and unknowingly shed it wherever they go
