 Resveratrol Drug Study Halted

Sirtris Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of GlaxoSmithKline, has halted a clinical trial evaluating a resveratrol-based drug after some patients suffered kidney damage. The phase 2 study was designed to evaluate the use of resveratrol as a stand alone treatment for multiple myeloma, as well as in conjunction with a cancer drug.
