May 24th, 2010 Shouldn’t Color Blindness Be More Prevalent in Humans From Africa?
Sometimes what we consider to be a physical challenge could turn out to be an absolute advantage. For instance color-blindness is considered a problem, since the inability to see color would be considered inferior to those who can. But in WWI and WWII it was noted that those who were color blind would not be fooled by camouflage and thus, would have a better chance of surviving on the front lines; a definite advantage in war, so you can see how that would help someone.
